Dissecting the Sound Mixing Board: The Channel Strip Infographic

For this week’s (third) assignment in Introduction to Music Production course, I did an infographic that visualizes and briefly explains the main part of the Mixing board, or the Mixer, which is the Channel strip.

For those of you who are not familiar with a Mixing Board, it is the piece of equipment that allows you to mix different tracks of music and vocals, add different audio effects, manipulate the volume of different instruments, and output a stereo track from them.

I hope you enjoy it and share if you like.

In my latest venture, I’ve been studying a pretty interesting online course on Introduction to Music Production at Coursera.org, and one of the lessons was related to Propagation, one of the main properties of sound. As part of my first assignment, I had the idea of making this infographic.

I have the intention of expanding and refining it later, but until that time comes, I wanted to share it with everyone.

While I got some pretty good positive feedback from my peers in my music class, more feedback is always appreciated!

Enjoy & Share!
